Online Appointments
The Excel Multiliteracy Center offers online appointments, in addition to in-person appointments, through WCOnline, our scheduling platform.
Things You'll Need:
- A computer with a working camera and microphone.
- A quiet space.
- Reliable internet access.
- Optional: Headphones.
If these are not available to you, it might be better to schedule your appointment to be in person.
We do not conduct appointments over the phone.
To Schedule an Online Appointment with a Consultant:
- Log into our scheduling platform. Visit WCOnline. If you don't already have an account, you will have to register for one.
- Schedule your appointment. Once you're in your account, click on a white box to schedule an appointment. Under the section titled "Meet Online?", make sure to select "Yes. Schedule Online appointment." If you do not see this option, try scheduling with a different consultant.
- Before the session begins, double check to make sure your camera and microphone are working.
- Start your online appointment at least five minutes early. This will give you time to copy and paste your project into the WCOnline whiteboard and check for any technical issues before the session begins.
Things to Note:
- Please use either Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Otherwise, you may find it difficult to join the online session.
- If your technology issues can't be solved in five to ten minutes, you may need to reschedule your appointment.
Excel Multiliteracy Center Online Appointment Guide:
After you've made your online appointment with the Excel Multiliteracy Center, this guide will walk you through how to access your appointment. If you have any questions during the process, you can contact us at mlcenter@uccs.edu or 719-255-4770. Our response times may be slower if you have an evening or weekend appointment.
Step 1:
At least five minutes before your appointment, go to WCOnline and log in using the email address and password used when you registered for your account.
Step 2:
Click your appointment box (orange).
Step 3:
Click "Start or Join Online Consultation." This will start the online meeting. If you do not see this button, you likely scheduled your appointment to be in person, and you will have to reschedule it to be online.
Step 4:
Make sure your camera and microphone are enabled by clicking the camera icon on the righthand side of the address bar.
Step 5a:
You can copy and paste your project into the large whiteboard in the middle of the appointment box. Your text will show up highlighted on screen.
Step 5b:
You can also screen share by clicking the computer icon on your video window.
Step 6:
Introduce yourself to the consultant and start the session!
